I hate that curse. I hate and despise that curse. I hate what it does and I hate how I feel when it ends. This was at least the fourth time it's struck me and sent me back, and I hate it more each time.

At least it's over with. Apologies and thanks to everyone. I always feel ill the day after, so I won't be going out. I doubt I'll be leaving my room today.

I disappeared late yesterday, Merry, I know. I am sorry. I found someone I knew. But I'm completely exhausted and feeling a bit ill today, so I'll be around tomorrow. I did have a good time looking for your cat yesterday, though. And I did enjoy seeing everyone I'd met the times before. It's as though our younger selves remember one another in between the curses. There's panic at first, and then everyone falls together into games and trouble.

It's still one of the worst curses I've ever endured--and more that once. It was the first curse to ever strike me, I believe. I shall never get used to it. I always feel horrible the day after.

Send me a message if you've need of me. Otherwise, I'll be recovering, and waiting for the next bout. Who knows when or what that will be.

Father called--or answered Cain's call, rather--and Cain answered. If you know the canon, you know what happens when Papa gets a hold of little!Cain. Cain, therefore, has new lash marks on his back. The scars opened by the regression have healed over, but the ones Alexis gave him during the curse have not. He'll be moving slow for a few days and he is not coming out of his room today. No, he won't say why. He's not in the best of tempers--he's somewhere between angry and depressed at the moment.]

I'm surprised he got in at all, but he was offered a chance to join them once before and passed it up. I'm almost sure that's how he got himself in this time. I won't be able to speak to him so freely for the duration, but I hope he can find something. He's conniving: I think he will.

I suppose it's all the better I wasn't warned. The contempt I greeted him with seemed to be convincing enough until he hinted otherwise.

I wouldn't want to get in his way, though we're both looking for the same thing, I suppose. the patients I healed provided a lot of information when I analyzed them. I hope Monsieur Crehador can find a substantial link rather than one we need to assume.

I'm afraid you will have to keep up that front. I know you've done similar things before, and I have to ask you to do it again.

If he can find the actual vial and prove that the poison came from that very vial, we would have and indisputable link. Though that may be nearly impossible for him to do.

I don't think that will be too hard. He has the chauvinism down quite well. ~~Alexis gives me enough practice to deal with that kind of attitude.~~

I think his arrival's given me some freedom of movement, Cain. Don't worry... if anything comes up, I'll let you know. As it stands, it would be far too suspicious of him to be keeping any contact with you at this point in time.

I just... worry that Alexis Hargreaves may already suspect where all our loyalties really lie.

Hopefully he'll be distracted by the newcomer. We quarreled, too, so if my father suspects anything immediately, he can see the very venomous and very public messages we sent to one another. I don't like being out of contact with him, not when he's in the middle of it all, but it will have to serve.

He may very well suspect it after a while. We shall have to keep it under wraps and keep ourselves ahead of him. Don't worry: I'm planning it already. I can't rely on the two of you to do everything, you know.

I'm sure that could possibly be encouraged, if all goes well. And if anything, we still have the flowers.
