Entry 238, Day 575

[Filtered from Known Enemies || Unhackable]
It isn't a pleasant thing to wake up stiff and somewhat confused in one's own bed--especially when one's own bed seems far too large. Larger than it was when one went to sleep before. It's happened before, and I half expected to find myself with a tail and whiskers again.

But this time, something was quite different. I seem to be of something like porcelain, though not quite so fragile. I'm still shaped like myself, though not out of flesh, and I'm smaller than I was. I think my eyes may even be made of glass. I think it was when I managed to clamber up to my mirror that I realised I'm like one of Merry's dolls.

If that crooked little girl with her monstrous dolls could see me now, I wonder what she'd think. Or if Merry could, as many times as she said I treated her like a doll--would she have been made a doll too if she were here today?--If that's your point, City, I don't find it amusing--

It isn't such a bad thing to be for a day, not by comparison to other curses. I can still move fairly easily, though I'm a bit awkward and some of my joints keep dislocating themselves. When I knelt, for example, to start typing this, my knees completely detached. I'm strung all through with elastic. It's not painful at all to have my joints coming apart, though it's more than a little disturbing to see. Oddly, my hands move like my own hands, though a little stiffly, and I can speak and move my eyes. I've been turned into a doll, I know, but apparently not entirely a doll. If I have a tongue, teeth, and a voice, but I seem to be strung together, I wonder what's become of my innards. For that matter, I wonder if I've a brain in my head. I wonder what I look like when I walk about. Perhaps I move something like He-Who-Kills does.

At least I'm still tall enough to climb out of my bed and up over to my Network device. And I see I'm not the only one who's affected by this--by far, I'm not the only one. Looking down onto the square, I think I'm one of the taller ones for once. And the curse saw fit to leave me at least some clothes that fit. Or it changed ones I had, I can't be sure. Some of you out there look rather ridiculous, if I may say so. It looks like the Kingdom of Toys that turned up Merry's storybooks out there. I think I'll have to go out, if I can manage the doorknobs and the stairs, just to see who has been changed into what today. It's difficult, getting around my room at the size I am, but not impossible.

I know I've been here too long when I'm so nonchalant as this: I've been turned into an animate doll, and yet I'm not panicked, nor do I seem to care. Really, this is more tiresome and inconvenient than anything. It's just another opportunity to see how the curse has affected everyone else.

On the other hand, I slept like the dead last night, for the first time in weeks, even as I was changed into this doll's shape. As suddenly as the nightmares started, they've gone again, and I've still no explanation for them. Did anyone find out their source? I know I wasn't the only one suffering, and yet none of us seem to have found the reason for it. Did anyone uncover the reason for it?

And now, with that, I shall put on these miniature clothes and set out. I was never one for fairy tales, but this seems like something drawn straight out of one.

[ooc: Because I am a dork, and one of my other hobbies outside of RP is such, Cain is a ball-jointed doll today. More specifically, um, picture something like this? Well, perhaps not with his clothes falling off >>;; I'm only sorry you can't see the joints on this guy ;.; lol canon irony, Cain & dolls.]

...Cain? You're...that's...that's the creepiest doll I've ever seen.

((OOC: I actually love BJD and don't find them creepy, buuuut...))

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-01 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, Autor, I'm a doll for the day.

[ooc: rofl rofl]

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-01 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That's...uh...quite unfortunate.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
It is, though it's not as bad as some curses have been. It's comparable to the times I was a cat, I suppose.

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, overall this appears to be quite a mild curse. just a bit inconvenient for those affected.

And I, apparently, am to be introduced to Miss Camelot's dolls, at her insistence.

Miss Road Camelot. Do you know her?

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
No, I don't think I do. A young girl, I'm assuming?

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
She acts young and looks young, but some of the stories she's told me suggest that she's far older that she appears.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Quite like. I believe the two are already acquainted.

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Evangeline didn't strike me as someone that would like to speak to someone like herself.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
I only said they were acquainted. I didn't say they were friends.

Things were rather tense between the two of them at the dinner party I gave.

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Ah...I see. So I was right.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
What that says about either of them or what sorts of dolls I'll be introduced to today, I don't know.

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Probably horribly creepy ones. The sort that you swear their eyes are following you as you move about the room.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
You mean like the sort I am today?

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
...Well...to be honest, yes.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Then I should be fine. I'll be going among my own kind.

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Be careful, they might reject you if they find out you're different from them. Children are cruel like that.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think they'll be able to move.

[identity profile] freakyfanboy.livejournal.com 2008-12-02 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
You never know. They might be able to. Dolls that can move and think for themselves aren't an uncommon plot device.
