Entry 197; Day 461
[Filtered from DELILAH || Unhackable]
I went to the Hall of the Missing last night with Riff. It was as I had thought: Merry's picture was there.I'm glad Riff was there with me--I've seen his picture there before too--I had to cling to his sleeve to make myself believe he was still beside me-- So she has gone home, as we had thought.
It's for the best. She's far safer there than she is here. And if what she said before, that I was there even as I was in the City--if that's true, then Riff and I are already looking after her.
She looks almost happy in her picture. There's a light in her eyes like she knew she was on her way home when it was taken--or engraved, or however they do it, I've no idea. But that brightness is there, and I'm glad to see it.
So it's certain she's gone now. My thanks to everyone who helped in looking for her. It was a great relief to know that there were others seeking for her in the City. And especial thanks to Miss Megumi for coming to speak to me yesterday evening.
I suppose it's some relief to know for certain that she is not here, that she hasn't been taken or kidnapped, that she's not cross with me and has run away. There's nothing to be done for it now, though I miss seeing her. We've been apart before, even divided from one another by the City before, so we shall get on. I do miss seeing her.

Riff, I shall need your help with certain things later.I've lost Merry, I won't lose you, not again--over and over, City, over and over-- So stay near at hand. I'll call for you.
Thank you for coming with me to the Hall last night. I know you cared for Merry as much as I did. I don't think I could have gone alone, not again. It's not the first time I've had to go and look for someone there.
I miss her like mad already, Riff.
But to be pragmatic a moment, since she's gone home, Father can't get at her--yes, perhaps he and his followers are still in our world as we're somehow in our world too, though I don't understand that at all. But she isn't here, and we needn't worry if they mean to strike at her. It's as good as sending her to the country to stay with the aunts. I don't mean to relegate her--she despises it when I do that--but it's protection for her. I'd begun arranging safe havens for her already, but I don't think that's needed anymore.
Riff, we can strike now without fear that she will be the target of a return strike. We must strike now. I've given over the evidence, and I refuse to keep waiting for the next move. We will find him, we will kill him.

There's strange films floating about on the Network. I can't understand even half of them. Some are beautiful, some are horrific. They seem almost as though they're part dream. I've no idea where they're coming from, which makes me suspect it's either some new, peculiar trend or it's a curse. I've not seen anything like that on my journal, so perhaps I've been missed.
That doesn't stop me from looking at the ones I've found on other jourals, though, of course.

[ooc: He doesn't know his memory is there, and he may not be able to remove it once he does see it. Merry memory a cop-out? Maybe. I was torn on this one. Maybe I should have done a Riff memory. I didn't want to reveal too many of Cain's secrets. Either way, this is rather revealing of the relationship between the Hargreaves siblings. But do you get to see the whole story~? No. Isn't the City cruel like that? Why were they in that house? Who was that other girl? You might never know.]

But what do you mean you 'can see'? I would think it would have been apparent. Mr Hitachiin is acting peculiarly too.
[ooc: Oh ho ho :3]

There's a memory of yours on the network, Lord Cain.

So you've seen it too. I can't get it out of my journal. It is for the best that she's not here, but City isn't doing me a favour by reminding me of how often she needed me.
[ooc: Was asleep D: Sorry for the late replies.]
