Entry 397; Day 489
Apr. 22nd, 2010 02:59 pmIt's my father's fault, you know. And you needn't ask what I mean. It should be quite obvious to everyone by now. Everything is really his doing.
I don't want to give him so much credit, but I know that at the centre of everything, at the heart of all--behind all the mysterious fires, all the attacks and attempts at me, behind that mad doctor and that boy, behind the charlatan Creahador, behind Suzette's and Emmeline's and Meridiana's deaths, behind so many of those sudden deaths, behind the attack on my Uncle Neil, behind every danger Merry has been put in, behind the poisonings that went on in this very City, in every kidnapping, in all inhuman and monstrous things done in the name of 'science', in every shallow grave, beneath every peculiar turn of events, behind all the superstition and danger and bloodshed--it's his doing. Even I'm his fault.
He's a madman and a criminal, perverting science to his own superstitious ends. It's his fault, it's always his fault, and it shall always be his fault. From the beginning, it has been his fault.
I'll have to set it to rights, of course. But the fault and the guilt are his.
I don't think there's any more I need to say about it.
~C.
[ooc: What's up, curse? It's funny because SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER. IDK. Cain doesn't like his dad. There are issues. Hell, there's a whole subscription. But it's still Papa's fault.]
