Jun. 5th, 2008 06:35 pmI paid a call on one of the lately injured in hospital today, one Mr. Riffael Raffit. He's in appalling shape after his ordeal, certainly in pain, furious at seeing me, and completely unable to speak. He's one of the latest in this string of victims, I'm certain.
It certainly isn't my fault that he was so angry at seeing me--no gratitude at all upon seeing me. And it had been suggested that I visit him, to have him see a familiar face. It was his decision to destroy what ties we had, so his anger is only his. I did nothing but pay a visit to one with whom I was acquainted upon hearing of his injury. And it is a grave injury.
If there's anyone in the hospital, or willing to volunteer his or her ability, with skill enough to mend such an injury as a tongue ripped out, it would serve the police well to have him mended. He might be able to describe his attacker--if he could speak. He, after all survived, with none of the messy resurrection ordeal so many of the victims have had to endure. I'd say you have here an eyewitness rendered temporarily mute. Mend him and you'd have more than a few clues.I'm seeing a pattern, though, or beginning to, in the violence of all these attacks lately--
Though, really, it's a wonder that his associates haven't yet swooped in to reclaim him and repair him. He's yours, after all, or so he told me. Such a pity one of your very few number should be so gravely injured.
It seals my certainty, though, that you are not responsible for these killings and injuries. Why would you damage one of your own like that? You're few enough to begin with.So who else might want to attack you? Or was it random? What ties do any of the others have among themselves?--
But it also means that your meagre number is down, again, by one. You are weakened by one, you are down by one. How many does that leave, then?
