Not at all.
I rather doubt they can be understood at all.
I suppose, if I'm to call these sights anything, they're more at hallucinations than anything. Anyway, I don't believe in ghosts, and ghosts certainly don't exist in my world. I can't speak so easily to the peculiarities of this place.
